Air Conditioning Repair in Reno and Surrounding Communities

If your central air conditioner is running without cooling, will not turn on, or is doing something new, a technician can find the cause and explain the repair.

Common reasons people call for AC repair

  • Warm or barely cool air from the vents
  • The system runs constantly or will not start
  • Ice on the refrigerant lines or indoor coil
  • Water pooling around the indoor equipment
  • New buzzing, grinding, or clicking sounds

When to turn the system off

If you see ice on the lines, water leaking from the indoor unit, or hear grinding or loud electrical buzzing, turn the system off at the thermostat and request service. Running it in that condition can make the problem worse.

What to expect during an AC assessment

The technician checks the indoor and outdoor equipment to find the source of the problem, then explains what is wrong and what the repair involves before work begins.

If the system is older and needs a major repair, you can also ask what air-conditioning replacement would involve so you can compare.

Where this service is available

AC repair is available across Reno and Sparks, in Spanish Springs, and throughout the other communities we serve. See HVAC service areas, including service in Spanish Springs.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my AC running but not cooling?

There are several possible causes, and they cannot be sorted out reliably without looking at the system. Check that the thermostat is set to cool and the filter is not clogged. If that does not help, request a repair visit.

When should I turn the air conditioner off and request service?

Turn it off if you see ice on the lines or coil, water leaking from the indoor unit, or hear grinding or loud buzzing. Then schedule a repair rather than continuing to run it.

Do you repair swamp coolers too?

Yes. Evaporative coolers are a different technology from central AC, and swamp-cooler repair and installation has its own page.
